About Taliesin West
Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert camp, Taliesin West, is located in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains. One of the most influential architects of our time, Wright’s career spanned more than 70 years. During that time, he designed hundreds of buildings, including the iconic Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Fallingwater. With each masterful design, Wright forever influenced our relationship with architecture and our idea of how to live in balance with nature.
Which Tour is Best for Me?
Most visitors to Taliesin West begin by taking the Self-Guided Audio Tour. It’s offered every day we are open, and takes you through the Historic Core to Wright’s living and working spaces. And, because it’s self-guided, you control the pace.
For families, we offer Family Tours on select dates – designed to engage visitors of all ages.
If you’ve taken these tours, consider exploring further beyond the Historic Core.
For those interested in the spaces where the Fellowship lived and worked, and how Taliesin West evolved over time, the Behind-The-Scenes Tour is recommended.
If you’re interested in the desert shelters that the Apprentices built and lived in, the Shelters in the Desert Hike is your best bet.
For those who want to enjoy the landscape around Taliesin West, choose the Golden Hour Sunset Hike.
