Taliesin West Digital Experience

Changing the Way We Live

Welcome to Taliesin West, the first Frank Lloyd Wright property made freely available online using this new immersive technology.

Wright was influenced by the times in which he lived, and a passion for preservation, innovation and education. We invite you to see the world as Wright did. Roam the property and go inside Taliesin West through this immersive experience that provides a deeper understanding of Frank Lloyd Wright’s philosophy on organic architecture and how it comes to life in the design and structure of his winter home and studio.

Experience Wright’s usage of compression and release as you enter the living room. Go to the land bridge and view the desert landscape. Take in the structural desert masonry as you wander the hallways and pass unique elements such as the light fixtures and furniture, most of which were designed by Wright himself.

The Future of Design

Changing the Way We Build

Taliesin West was captured using the world’s smallest and lightest imaging laser scanner, the BLK360 from Leica Geosystems. The digital reality it produces provides a completely new way to experience Taliesin West. The video below shows the property in point cloud form. The point cloud is a dimensionally accurate laser captured representation of the property. This type of data is invaluable for the preservation of Taliesin West and can be used to continue its legacy as a living laboratory. The data gathered for this project will inform and inspire the architectural community as well as the students that study here.

By preserving, documenting and sharing Frank Lloyd Wright’s work, his legacy will continue to educate and inspire future generations.
