Frank Lloyd Wright’s Charles L. & Dorothy Manson House For Sale

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation | Jun 19, 2020

The 1941 Charles L. and Dorothy Manson property is on the market in Wausau, WI for $425,000. The home is an early example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian designs, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016 and is also a Historical Landmark for the City of Wausau.

The exterior of this home prominently showcases red tidewater cypress in a board and batten design and gratuitous use of local Wausau red Ringle bricks. In order to bring the outside in, the same brickwork and red cypress board and batten pattern continues inside.

Some signature Wright features found in the house include the use of compression and expansion from room to room, original built-ins such as the bookshelves, window seating, and tables, and notably, Wright’s perforated windows are present throughout.

This home is located at 1224 Highland Park Blvd, Wausau, WI  54403. More information on the listing can be found at Davd Wood Realty.
