The Meyer House
A Solar Hemicycle Masterpiece. The concrete blocks used in the construction of the Meyer House were custom built, rather than utilizing the molded blocks used in the other homes in The Acres.
The Curtis and Lillian Meyer House in Galesburg, Michigan, is a stunning 1951 Usonian Solar Hemicycle home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1948 and carefully restored to its original 1950s splendor. Featuring Wright-designed furniture, built-in banquettes, a dining table, restored mahogany accents, and gardens in full bloom, the home has received both the 2019 Visser Award for Outstanding Restoration of a Frank Lloyd Wright House and the 2021 Wright Spirit Award. Set in a peaceful rural setting surrounded by nature, the house embodies Wright’s evolving approach to modern American design.
