Frank Lloyd Wright’s ‘Tirranna’ For Sale
Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation | Oct 11, 2017
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1955 for John Rayward, Tirranna in New Caan, Connecticut, is for sale with a reduced price.
Sitting above a waterfall, the 7-bedroom, 8-bathroom home surrounded by 15 acres of forested land is now listed for $7.2 million, a drop from its original $8 million price tag.
Even from the beginning of Wright’s design process for the home, updates were constantly being made. Some of these updates were made by Wright, others by Taliesin Associated Architect William Wesley Peters.
The gardens were designed by Frank Okamura and Charles Middeleer.
The home boasts a number of unique amenities including—but not limited to—a circular pool, an interior courtyard, a rooftop observatory with a telescope, a greenhouse, a tennis court, and a large barn.
