Frank Lloyd Wright licensed products embody the vision of America’s greatest architect.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision, “to make life more beautiful, the world a better one for living in, and to give rhyme, reason, and meaning to life” is carried on through the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to inspire people to discover and embrace an architecture for better living through meaningful connections to nature, the arts, and each other. The licensing program is intended to bring that mission to life through beautifully designed products that allow people to bring Wright’s ideas into their lives.
THE PIONEER
In his over a 70 year career, Frank Lloyd Wright created the principles of a modern American architecture that advance the way we build and live around the world.
More than a designer of buildings, Frank Lloyd Wright was an architect of innovative design ideas, his creations make our lives better.
THE PROGRAM
Frank Lloyd Wright licensed products are desired by people who appreciate great design and refined style.
In 1955, Frank Lloyd Wright began to license his work to make his designs more broadly available, rather than restricted to clients of his practice. For this project, Wright created original designs for the Taliesin Ensemble of products in partnership with leading design brands. Beginning with that original work and continuing today, Frank Lloyd Wright licensed products represent refined style, through the expression of the integral relationships between the natural and the man-made, and between material and design. The program encompasses more than one thousand primary design references, accompanied by the most iconic name in architecture and design.
Today, more than 50 global companies license and design products under the timeless Frank Lloyd Wright brand, selling in the U.S., Japan, and Europe.
THE BRAND
From our market research, we found that Wright and his work is well-respected, and appreciated, and nearly half of the American populace aware of his work would consider purchasing items under his name.
We also know Wright has alignment with the following attributes:
• Visionary
• Innovative
• Iconic
The Licensing program uses those traits and Wright’s philosophy to direct our work towards reimagining products for the current context, rather than focusing entirely on replicating his work.
APPLY TO BECOME A LICENSEE
The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation works with licensees to create products that are responsive to the contemporary context.
We are looking for:
• Leaders in the industry

• Products that complement our brand
• Wide distribution at retail
• Ability to read trends and anticipate industry changes
• Quality assured products
Our goal is to perpetuate Wright’s design philosophy by training others in the organic principles of his work. If your company would like to work with the Foundation to use Wright’s ideas to meet the needs of new audiences, please reach out.

FEATURED LICENSEES
His vision continues. Frank Lloyd Wright saw the world differently and inspired us to do the same. Now in the Frank Lloyd Wright Bath Collection by Brizo®, we pay homage to his visionary spirit.
This collection honors his philosophy of organic architecture by staying true to six key principles. Watch the conversation between Judd Lord, Brizo® Senior Director of Industrial Design, and Stuart Graff, President and CEO of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, about looking to the future through the lens of Wright’s principles.
KITH for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation New Balance Collaboration
KITH is a contemporary lifestyle brand that came to the Foundation with ideas of infusing their streetwear style with Wright’s work. We quickly came to realize that KITH’s founder, Ronnie Fieg, shared our passion for Wright in general and Broadacre City, specifically. Broadacre City is a conceptual reimagining of a city that addresses inequality, distributes and uses resources fairly, and is gentler and more connected to the Earth. We wanted to share Wright’s legacy around how we live more humanely in this world with people who may have little or no knowledge of his work. Below are links to how the April 2023 collection of Made in the USA 998 sneaker and limited edition graphic tees, was discussed in KITH’s blog.
