In today’s modern world, we so rarely find time to simply Be, constantly inundated with messages of productivity. If there is a lesson that Wright often preached that seldom gets revisited today, it is that there is learning to be done in rest. To honor Wright’s belief in appreciating the beautiful harmony of nature and humankind and bring us closer to our inner selves, join Harumi Maejima and Sarah Spearin as they guide us towards connecting with our minds during these yoga classes.

Come and join us on a wonderful path of mindful meditation using crystal bowls. This group setting provides the perfect environment for guiding us from unawareness to conscious existence. The meditative state is frequently described as a state of clarity in being. Each of us is progressing to this heightened awareness to varying extents, yet attaining a state of tranquility and serenity is notably more achievable within a group context. The collective support inherent in group meditation also presents each individual with a chance to attain deeper understanding regarding specific challenges or matters they seek clarity on.
If you’re in search of insights, relaxation, and methods to infuse mindfulness into your life, this class is tailor-made for you.

Tai Chi creates a sense of harmony between humans and their environment. In Tai Chi, this is achieved through the flowing movements of the form, which are based on the principles of yin and yang. These principles represent the two opposing forces in nature, such as darkness and light, or movement and stillness. The goal of Tai Chi is to find balance between these forces, both within the individual and in the world around them.
Join Rasoul Amin Sobhani in practicing the art of Tai Chi, which uses the mind, body, and spirit equally to engage in collective meditation.

Join us at Taliesin West along with the Stewards of the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy for mindfulness walks where we’ll practice finding inner peace through connecting with nature. We’ll meet at the ticketing kiosk, then take a short walk through the Historic Core that leads out into the desert, walking on a path against the McDowell mountains. Along the way, we will see how the desert landscape shaped Wright and his Apprentice’s work and how nature has changed over time.
Please note that this program walks over uneven ground for approximately 1.5 miles with little shade. The walk will take up to 90 minutes and includes stopping points along the way. We encourage all participants to bring the following supplies: sunglasses, hat, water, and sunscreen. Please wear close-toed shoes and dress for walking on a desert path.
