Frank Lloyd Wright’s W. Irving Clark House for Sale

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation | Mar 6, 2019

The nearly 4,000 square-foot Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home is located in a historic Chicago suburb.

The two-story W. Irving Clark House in La Grange, Illinois, is on the market for $1,199,000. The nearly 4,000 square-foot home features five bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The home’s design is believed to be a collaboration between E. Hill Turnock and Frank Lloyd Wright, built for attorney W. Irving Clark in 1892.

Turnock was a fellow Adler and Sullivan draftsman, and the drawings are in the Frank Lloyd Wright archives. Many speculate that the design is by both Wright and Turnock because the home features several design elements that were typical of Wright.

Although the residence has been renovated and remodeled several times over the years, many of its original features have been preserved including four working wood-burning fireplaces, stained-glass windows in the living and dining rooms, the light fixtures in the family room and main hallway, and more.
