About the Ensemble
Mike Kocour (piano), Ben Hedquist (bass), Jacob Eary (drums), and special guest appearance by Jason Palmer (trumpet)
Downbeat magazine hails Jason Palmer as “an exciting player – achieving pinpoint focus in his attack one minute, turning his concrete bebop lines into caramel, sliding through pitches and bending them to his will the next.”
Legendary jazz great Marian McPartland called Mike Kocour “…a brilliant pianist and composer. He plays with remarkable creativity and a technique to die for. Sparkling ideas fly from his fingers making harmonic sophistication the order of the day.”
