“Taliesin and Horsepower” is part of a series of monthly programs which will be offered as part of Wade House’s year-long celebration of the life of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Presented by Ryan Hewson, manager of collections for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

This talk will begin by taking people through a brief history of the development of Taliesin and the buildings that comprise the Taliesin Estate, starting with the arrival of Wright’s ancestors to the Wyoming Valley, where Taliesin is located and concluding with Wright’s death in 1959.  Following this there will be a look at how horsepower shaped Taliesin and the various carriages that Wright owned.  The presentation will conclude with a brief update on current preservation projects in progress.  At the conclusion of the lecture there will be time for questions and answers.

Admission to the lecture and Wesley W. Jung Carriage museum is complimentary on Saturday, March 4th. A local microbrew and light hors d’oeuvres reception will precede the lecture beginning at 12:30 p.m. The “Frank Lloyd Wright: A Wisconsin Original” monthly speaker series will take place at the Wade House Visitor Center located on Hwy. 23, halfway between Sheboygan and Fond du Lac.
