MEMBER EVENT: Collections Vault Talk

July 15, 2022
Taliesin West

July 15, 2022 – 10:30 – 11:15 AM

Join us for a behind the scenes session with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation’s Director and Curator of Collections, Margo Stipe. With an expertise in Japanese art and architecture, Margo will talk about Wright’s passion for Japanese woodblock prints and their acknowledged influence on his work – illustrating this with a selection of prints. We will also get to see a set of woodblocks that Wright purchased in 1913. Using these original woodblocks, we were able to work with a Tokyo publisher to make new prints in 1990. These will be on display, too.

From this experience, you will gain insight into the influence of Asian art on Wright’s thinking and work.

Space is limited to 7 guests and tickets are $10. Please contact our Senior Membership Manager, Keely Duffy, with any questions.
