Hamlet and Zombies

December 1, 2017 – December 3, 2017

Hamlet and Zombies is part of Southwest Shakespeare Company’s Standing O series and is presented by the Arizona School for the Arts Theatre Department.

This new comedy sounds a lot like William Shakespeare’s masterpiece, Hamlet, full of the Bard’s rich verse and intricate detail. And the plot sticks relatively close to the original, but there’s a twist! The dead are not altogether “dead.” They soon begin to attack the living and transform those characters into one of their zombie horde. Hamlet is faced with not only avenging his father’s death but also fending off the un-dead invaders. Suitable for all ages, this production is performed by middle school students (grades 5-8) from Arizona School for the Arts. Running time is 70 minutes.
