Outdoor Edition of Friday Night Film: Metropolis
January 28, 2022
January 28, 2022 – 6:00 – 8:00 PM
Watch films in style at Taliesin West. Our Friday Night Films provide a new way to enjoy the silver screen—connecting art, architecture, and nature. From old classics to new favorites, there’s something for everyone. Each evening includes a screening in a historic Taliesin West space, followed by a conversation connecting the film to Wright’s legacy.
This Friday we will present and outdoor screening of Metropolis (1927). In a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city’s mastermind falls in love with a working-class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences.
Join us for an outdoor screening of this historic film (watched by the Wrights themselves!) and participate in a post-film conversation about the use of architecture in classic Hollywood film.
Bring a blanket and dress warmly for this outdoor presentation at Taliesin West. To allow everyone to have a clear view of the film, please do not bring folding chairs. Masks are required in all public indoor spaces for the full duration of time inside. If you have any questions about your next visit to our Cultural Programs, please refer to our FAQ.
