Cultural Programs at Taliesin West

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation | Jan 13, 2022

Taliesin West was and continues to be a place that values community. It is an inclusive environment where people come together to share ideas of progress, form connections across disciplines, grow as individuals and community members, and find lifelong inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and ideas. Throughout the years, Taliesin West and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation have undergone many changes, and we are grateful for those who have come on that journey with us, as well as those we have met along the way.

As we build and grow our Cultural Programs, we aim to provide new and exciting ways for diverse audiences to experience Taliesin West at their own pace and in their own way, whether their first visit or hundredth. We continue to welcome our loyal visitors and Members, while also opening doors to those who have not yet experienced the wonder of Wright’s work. There are many ways to experience Taliesin West, be it on a daily tour or a happy hour spent watching the sunset from our famous Prow.

Cultural Programs combine educational opportunities with exciting and accessible offerings, and as we continue to grow and change to fit the needs of our patrons, so too will our calendar of programs.

We are excited to offer our inaugural season of Cultural Programs:

Sunsets & Sips

Where happy hour meets golden hour.

Each Sunsets & Sips takes place in select spaces on the Taliesin West campus with opportunities to pose questions to staff and mingle with other guests. This casual evening program is a great option for discovering parts of Taliesin West in detail, without the structure of a tour, or simply to take a moment relax and enjoy the beauty of our unique atmosphere. It is a great option to show off the best sunset in town to friends, family, or a date, set against an expansive view of the valley below.

Saturday Night Salons

Spend Saturday Night like the Wrights.

Saturday Night Salons are a series of monthly presentations and conversations influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, his students, and the cultural history of Taliesin West. Salon-goers can expect to hear presentations from dedicated staff and local experts in addition to enjoying a live performance during this 90-minute program. Absorb the conversation and performers in our historic setting—a space of inquiry and entertainment that has been expanding ideas since the 1930s.

Friday Night Films

A new approach to a Friday night movie.

The Friday Night Films series taps into the rich history of film at Taliesin West. Wright, his family, and apprentices would often gather to view films from around the world. We are excited to bring the opportunity for the same experience to our guests. Friday Night Films features movies that relate to key themes of life here at Taliesin West, as well as a post-screening discussion.

Whether you are a devoted patron or experiencing Taliesin West for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you and hope you love it as much as we do. See you soon!
