The Wright Angle

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation | May 19, 2017

In honor of the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birth, Schumacher, the venerable American fabric and wallpaper company, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation are collaborating to launch a fabric collection inspired by the original and wildly successful line Frank Lloyd Wright and his team designed for Schumacher in 1955.

“The mission of an architect is to help people understand how to make life beautiful, the world a better one for living in, and to give reason, rhyme, and meaning to life.”-Frank Lloyd Wright, 1957

It all began in 1955, the year when American visionary Frank Lloyd Wright partnered with storied fabric house Schumacher to create a line of textiles that took the design world by storm. Today, in collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Schumacher is bringing back many of those beloved original patterns as well as new designs based on the legendary architect’s sketches and drawings.

The master himself in the studio at Taliesin West–his beloved winter home, bustling design laboratory and now the site of his foundation and architecture school–reviewing a selection of designs for his Schumacher line in the fall of 1955.

Graphic, geometric and in coordinating color stories, the Applied Architecture collection bears the indelible signature of its creator.

The Applied Architecture collection is available exclusively at Schumacher beginning May 22nd. Get ready to bring the legend home.
